About This Game:
Children of Morta is an action RPG and roguelite centered on the Bergsons, a family of heroes defending their homeland from a spreading supernatural corruption. Rather than following one permanent protagonist, the story develops around the entire family and their relationships as different members take turns entering dangerous regions.
Each playable Bergson has a distinct combat style, ranging from close-range sword fighting to archery, magic, and other specialized abilities. Story events continue between expeditions, allowing the family home to evolve alongside the roguelite progression.
How the Gameplay Works
Players enter procedurally arranged dungeons filled with enemies, treasure, temporary bonuses, events, and bosses. Each family member gains experience individually and unlocks abilities that improve their particular fighting style.
Gold and other resources recovered from expeditions fund permanent family upgrades that benefit future runs. Switching between characters helps prevent overreliance on a single hero and allows different abilities to be used against particular regions and enemy types.
