Cruelty Squad is a surreal first-person tactical shooter set in a grotesque corporate dystopia where assassination has become routine business. Players work for an organization that sends them into open-ended levels to eliminate specific targets while navigating bizarre architecture, heavily armed enemies, and deliberately unsettling visual design.
Behind its abrasive presentation is a surprisingly flexible immersive-sim structure. Levels contain alternate entrances, hidden areas, unusual tools, environmental shortcuts, and economic systems that encourage experimentation.
How the Gameplay Works
Players enter missions with selected weapons and equipment, then decide how to reach and eliminate targets. Doors can be breached, windows provide alternate routes, unusual biological augmentations add new movement options, and enemies can often be approached from multiple directions.
Money earned through missions and other activities can be spent on equipment and implants. Replaying stages with new upgrades can reveal routes and secrets that were previously difficult or impossible to reach.
