The Fall Part 2: Unbound is a science-fiction adventure that continues the story of A.R.I.D., an artificial intelligence fighting to preserve its own existence. After coming under attack, A.R.I.D. begins moving through a digital network and enters the systems of several different robots in an attempt to identify the source of the threat.
The story explores artificial intelligence, identity, purpose, and personal rules through several mechanical characters with very different behaviors. Puzzle solving, exploration, dialogue, and occasional action sequences are combined into a narrative-focused experience where understanding each host becomes important to progressing.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore side-viewed environments while interacting with objects, examining clues, speaking with characters, and solving logic-based puzzles. A.R.I.D. can enter different robotic hosts, and each one follows its own routines and limitations that must be understood before its behavior can be changed.
Certain sections include combat and defensive sequences, but much of the game revolves around manipulating environments and finding ways around the rules governing each machine. Conversations and discoveries gradually reveal new information about the characters and the digital threat pursuing A.R.I.D.
