About This Game:
The Saboteur is an open-world action game set in German-occupied France during World War II. Players control Sean Devlin, an Irish race-car mechanic who becomes involved with the French Resistance after a personal tragedy. His fight against the occupation takes him through Paris and the surrounding countryside while targeting military installations, officers, propaganda, and other symbols of enemy control.
Occupied districts are presented largely in black and white with strong flashes of color, while liberating areas gradually restores full color to the environment. The game mixes stealth, climbing, gunfights, driving, explosions, and open-world sabotage across a stylized recreation of wartime France.
How the Gameplay Works
Sean can climb buildings, move across rooftops, use disguises, silently eliminate guards, and infiltrate restricted locations. When stealth fails, he can use pistols, rifles, machine guns, explosives, and other weapons to fight enemy forces directly.
The open world contains guard towers, fuel depots, anti-aircraft guns, propaganda installations, armored vehicles, and other targets that can be destroyed. Resistance missions and side activities provide additional rewards, while vehicles allow quick movement between city districts and countryside locations. Causing enough trouble attracts increasingly powerful enemy reinforcements.
