Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is a modern remake of the classic platform adventure, rebuilding its colorful kingdom with redrawn artwork, improved presentation, and additional content. Alex travels across Radaxian lands to confront Janken the Great while rescuing characters who have been turned to stone.
The remake retains recognizable stages, vehicles, enemies, shops, and rock-paper-scissors encounters from the original while adding expanded areas and quality-of-life improvements. A retro mode also allows players to compare the redesigned presentation with the older visual style.
How the Gameplay Works
Alex runs and jumps through side-scrolling stages while defeating many enemies with a single powerful punch. Money collected along the route can be spent in shops on useful equipment and vehicles that change how certain stages are played.
Some boss encounters are decided through rock-paper-scissors before becoming more traditional challenges. Platforming becomes increasingly demanding as stages introduce hazards, underwater sections, vehicles, breakable blocks, and maze-like castle areas.
