About This Game:
Alpha Protocol is a third-person espionage RPG about operative Michael Thorton, who becomes caught in an international conspiracy after a covert mission goes wrong. The game combines shooting and stealth with extensive dialogue choices, character relationships, intelligence gathering, and decisions that can alter later missions.
The player’s version of Thorton is shaped through skills and conversation rather than a fixed moral alignment. Characters remember how they are treated, and gaining or losing someone’s trust can unlock information, assistance, hostility, or different outcomes.
How the Gameplay Works
Missions can be approached with pistols, assault rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, gadgets, martial arts, stealth takedowns, or combinations of these skills. Experience points improve weapon expertise, technical abilities, toughness, stealth, and special actions.
Dialogue uses timed responses that force quick decisions during conversations. Mission order can also matter because information or allies gained in one region may create new options in another. Equipment, armor modifications, ammunition types, and intel purchases provide additional preparation before operations.
