Angry Birds Star Wars is a physics-based puzzle game that combines the slingshot gameplay of Angry Birds with characters, locations, and abilities inspired by the original Star Wars trilogy. The familiar birds take on roles based on characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia, and Chewbacca, while the pigs appear as Imperial forces. Players travel through themed stages based on locations including Tatooine, the Death Star, Hoth, and other recognizable parts of the Star Wars universe.
The game keeps the simple goal of destroying enemy pigs while adding Force powers, lightsabers, blasters, and other character-specific abilities. Some stages take place on traditional ground-based structures, while others use low-gravity or space environments where objects and characters behave differently. New birds and abilities are introduced as the adventure progresses, giving later puzzles more tools and increasingly complicated layouts.
How the Gameplay Works
Players launch birds from a slingshot and try to eliminate every pig on the stage using as few attempts as possible. Structures made from materials such as wood, glass, and stone can be broken or collapsed to crush enemies, while accurately choosing the launch angle and timing each special ability can create larger chain reactions. Different birds provide unique attacks that can be activated while they are in flight.
Luke can use a lightsaber to strike nearby objects and enemies, Obi-Wan can push objects with the Force, Han can fire blaster shots toward selected targets, and other characters bring their own abilities to puzzles. Space stages introduce gravitational fields around planets and other objects, causing launched birds to curve around them instead of traveling in a straight line. Players earn up to three stars depending on their score and can replay stages to improve their performance or find better solutions.
