Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore is a 2D action-platforming adventure inspired by the infamous CD-i Zelda games while intentionally embracing their colorful animation style and unusual presentation. Players control Arzette as she travels across Faramore to stop the return of the demon king Daimur.
The game mixes platforming, combat, exploration, collectible upgrades, and animated story scenes performed in a deliberately retro style.
How the Gameplay Works
Players jump through side-scrolling areas, fight enemies with a sword and other tools, collect gems, complete quests, and acquire abilities that open new routes.
Progression brings stronger equipment and more access to the map, while optional character quests provide additional rewards. The game is both parody and sincere revival, turning a famously awkward visual style into a polished modern adventure. The experience also rewards experimentation because 2d action-platforming does not operate separately from cd-i-inspired animation style and sword combat and upgrades.
