Destroy All Humans! 1 is a comedic third-person action game about Crypto-137, an alien sent to 1950s Earth to harvest human DNA and investigate the disappearance of a previous clone. The game parodies Cold War science fiction, suburban America, and government conspiracy stories.
Crypto has access to both advanced alien weapons and psychic powers, allowing missions to become chaotic sandboxes of destruction rather than straightforward shooting galleries.
How the Gameplay Works
Players use the Zap-O-Matic, Disintegrator Ray, Anal Probe, telekinesis, mind control, and other abilities to attack or manipulate humans. A flying saucer provides larger-scale weapons for destroying buildings and military forces.
Story missions are spread across open hub areas that can be revisited for optional challenges and collectibles. Upgrades improve Crypto and the saucer, while the remake-style modern release preserves the original game’s humor and mission structure with updated presentation.
