For The King II is a turn-based roguelite RPG where a party of adventurers travels across a procedurally generated kingdom, completes quests, fights enemies, and attempts to overthrow a tyrannical queen. It expands the original with larger parties, grid-based combat positioning, and new classes.
The campaign mixes board-game-like movement with role-playing progression. Random events, equipment, weather, and encounters make every run different enough that planning must remain flexible.
How the Gameplay Works
Players move characters across a hex-based overworld, spend movement points, visit towns, enter dungeons, and fight in turn-based battles. Positioning now matters more because characters occupy a tactical grid and can protect or support one another.
Loot, class abilities, consumables, and Focus points shape combat decisions. Solo play lets one player control the entire group, while online co-op allows friends to divide characters. Losing a run still contributes Lore used for additional unlocks.
