Ghost on the Shore is a narrative exploration adventure about Riley, a young woman who becomes stranded on a remote island and discovers that she is sharing her journey with the voice of a ghost named Josh. Exploring the abandoned community gradually reveals what happened to the islanders and why Josh remains connected to the place.
The relationship between Riley and Josh develops through conversation rather than existing only as background narration. Dialogue decisions cannot simply be undone and can change how their bond develops and where the story eventually leads.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore the island from a first-person perspective, enter abandoned homes, examine personal belongings, and search for traces of the people who once lived there. Objects and locations trigger conversations that provide more information about the island and Josh’s past.
Dialogue choices allow Riley to respond differently to Josh throughout the journey. These decisions accumulate over time and influence their relationship as well as the final outcome of the story.
