Halls of Torment is a survivor-style action roguelite presented with the dark pre-rendered look of late-1990s action RPGs. Players choose a hero and enter cursed halls filled with enormous monster swarms, elite enemies, quests, treasure, and bosses.
The game combines automatic basic attacks with more direct aiming and equipment progression than many survivor titles. Each character has a distinct weapon and stat profile, while gear found or recovered from runs can shape future attempts.
How the Gameplay Works
Players move through large arenas, aim attacks, collect experience gems, choose traits, unlock abilities, and survive escalating enemy waves. Abilities can add projectiles, summons, area damage, status effects, or defensive tools that complement the hero’s main weapon.
Quests unlock new characters, items, stages, and mechanics. Equipment can be sent back to the hub and used on later runs, creating persistent build options beyond temporary level-ups.
