About This Game:
Heart of the Forest is an interactive FMV psychological horror story inspired by legends surrounding Germany’s Black Forest. A hiking trip goes badly wrong, leaving its characters trapped in a situation connected to old stories of vengeful spirits and forces that may not belong to the ordinary world.
The game is presented entirely through live-action performances, placing the player’s decisions directly inside a cinematic horror narrative. Different choices can determine which characters survive, what secrets are uncovered, and how the journey ultimately ends.
How the Gameplay Works
Players watch filmed scenes until important decisions appear. Selecting a response changes how characters behave and determines which scene plays next, creating branching routes through the story.
Some decisions have immediate consequences while others influence events much later. Replaying the experience with different choices reveals alternative scenes, character outcomes, and endings that cannot all be seen during one playthrough.
