About This Game:
Legion Gold is a historical turn-based strategy game set during the height of the Roman Empire. Players take control of Rome or one of several competing powers and attempt to expand their territory through military conquest, economic development, diplomacy, and careful management of settlements.
The Gold edition expands the original game with additional campaigns and content, providing a broader selection of historical situations. Strategic decisions take place across a campaign map, while individual battles can be resolved through a more focused tactical system.
How the Gameplay Works
Players manage cities, recruit armies, move forces between regions, negotiate with neighboring factions, and develop an economy capable of supporting expansion. Controlling important settlements and maintaining strong armies is necessary to survive against rival powers.
When armies meet, battles can be handled through formations and tactical planning rather than simple numerical comparisons. Unit composition, terrain, and deployment affect the outcome, while successful campaigns gradually increase the player’s control over the ancient world.
