About This Game:
NBA 2K18 is a basketball simulation featuring NBA teams, players, arenas, presentation, and multiple ways to play professional basketball. It combines traditional exhibition and season modes with team management, collectible-card competition, and a career built around a created player.
On the court, the game attempts to recreate modern NBA basketball through player ratings, individual animations, team strategies, shooting mechanics, defensive positioning, dribbling, passing, post play, and physical interactions.
How the Gameplay Works
Players control individual athletes during five-on-five matches and switch between teammates when defending. Offensive play includes passing, screens, dribble moves, jump shots, layups, dunks, post moves, and play calling, while defense requires positioning, steals, blocks, and rebounding.
MyCareer follows a custom player whose abilities improve through games and progression, while MyGM and MyLeague provide broader franchise-management control. MyTeam centers on collecting player cards and assembling custom lineups for different challenges.
