About This Game:
Normality is a surreal first-person adventure set in Neutropolis, a city where fun, individuality, and unusual behavior have effectively been outlawed. Players control Kent Knutson, a rebellious young man placed under house arrest after committing the terrible crime of acting happy in public.
Kent becomes involved with an underground resistance attempting to challenge the city’s oppressive ruler, Paul Nystalux. The game approaches its dystopian setting with absurd humor, strange characters, and exaggerated environments rather than a serious political tone.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore 3D environments from a first-person perspective, collect objects, speak with characters, and solve traditional adventure-game puzzles. Inventory items often need to be combined or used in deliberately unusual ways.
Conversations and environmental clues reveal how Neutropolis operates and where members of the resistance can be found. Progress involves escaping confinement, helping eccentric citizens, and finding ways around the city’s restrictive systems.
