About This Game:
People’s General is a 1998 turn-based wargame from Strategic Simulations that moves the style of Panzer General II into a fictional near-future conflict across Asia. China and its allies face a Western coalition in campaigns involving modern tanks, infantry, aircraft, helicopters, and other military forces.
Battles take place across hex-based maps where terrain, supply, spotting, experience, and unit capabilities influence performance. Campaigns allow surviving forces to continue developing between scenarios instead of treating every battle as a completely separate engagement.
How the Gameplay Works
Players purchase and deploy military units before moving them across hexes one turn at a time. Terrain affects movement and combat effectiveness, while different unit types are designed for particular battlefield roles.
Prestige points are used to purchase or upgrade forces, and surviving units can gain experience through combat. Campaigns cover different sides of the fictional conflict, while standalone scenarios and an editor provide additional battles.
