Popup Dungeon is a turn-based tactical RPG presented as a handcrafted tabletop world made from paper, cardboard, and pop-up scenery. Players assemble parties from a large collection of heroes and then venture through campaigns filled with battles, events, equipment, and unpredictable modifiers.

A major focus is customization. Players can create characters, enemies, abilities, items, and other content using built-in tools, making it possible to design unusual party combinations or entirely new gameplay ideas.

How the Gameplay Works
Combat takes place on grid-based battlefields where characters move and use attacks, spells, healing abilities, status effects, and environmental interactions. Action resources determine how much a character can accomplish during its turn.

Between battles, players choose routes, collect loot, manage party members, and react to random events. Campaign modifiers and procedurally assembled encounters create different challenges, while user-created content can greatly expand the available characters and abilities.
