Terminator Salvation is a third-person shooter set within the future war between humanity and Skynet. Players control resistance fighter John Connor during events connected to the film, battling through devastated city environments filled with machines hunting the remaining human forces.
The campaign focuses heavily on moving between cover positions while fighting familiar Terminator machines and other robotic enemies.
How the Gameplay Works
John moves between designated cover points and fires from protected positions using rifles, shotguns, machine guns, grenades, and heavier weapons. Many machines have armored fronts or specific vulnerabilities, encouraging players to reposition rather than simply shoot from one location.
Friendly resistance fighters accompany John through much of the campaign. Vehicle and mounted-weapon sequences break up the on-foot battles, while cooperative play allows a second player to join the campaign.
