About This Game:
The Iron Oath is a turn-based tactical RPG about leading a mercenary company through the medieval fantasy realm of Caelum. Rather than following an unchanging party of heroes, players recruit soldiers, accept contracts, build the company’s reputation, and try to keep the organization alive as years pass across the world.
Characters can grow older, become injured, develop into veterans, or die, forcing the company to continually adapt. Towns and political powers also change over time, giving the campaign a sense that events continue beyond the immediate missions undertaken by the mercenaries.
How the Gameplay Works
Battles take place on tactical grids where positioning and the abilities of individual mercenaries determine how effectively the team fights. Different classes provide offensive, defensive, and support options, while enemies require changes in party composition and tactics.
Outside combat, players recruit members, manage company finances, travel between locations, select contracts, and improve their headquarters. Maintaining a reliable roster becomes increasingly important as experienced soldiers age or suffer permanent consequences from dangerous missions.
