About This Game:
The King of Fighters 2003 is a 2D team fighting game that begins a new storyline while introducing changes to the traditional three-character format. Familiar SNK fighters return alongside new characters, with teams competing in another King of Fighters tournament surrounded by a growing mystery.

One of the biggest changes is the ability to switch active fighters during the match rather than waiting for one character to be defeated. This Tag system makes battles more flexible and encourages players to use the strengths of all three team members during a single round.

How the Gameplay Works
Players select three fighters before battle and designate one as the team leader. Punches, kicks, throws, special moves, and super attacks follow the familiar 2D fighting structure, but characters can now tag in and out during combat when the system allows it.

Switching fighters can help protect a damaged character or create different offensive matchups. Team leaders also gain access to additional Leader Super Special Moves, giving team selection another strategic consideration. Battles continue until all members of one team have been defeated.
