World of Contraptions is a physics-based building game where players construct machines from individual parts and then test whether their creations can solve challenges or simply survive their own design. Wheels, motors, joints, structural pieces, weapons, and other components can be combined in many different ways.
There is rarely only one correct solution to a problem. A vehicle can be carefully engineered for efficiency or turned into an absurd machine that succeeds through sheer experimentation, making creativity an important part of the experience.
How the Gameplay Works
Players assemble machines in a building interface by connecting components and adjusting their placement. Once activated, the construction follows the game’s physics system, revealing whether it can move, steer, balance, fly, carry objects, or complete the intended objective.
Failed designs can be returned to the editor and modified immediately. Challenge scenarios provide specific goals, while more open building options let players experiment freely with increasingly complicated mechanisms and unusual creations.
