About This Game:
Xenomarine is a traditional sci-fi roguelike set aboard an alien-infested space station. The player is a stranded marine whose squad has been wiped out, leaving them to explore an effectively endless sequence of dangerous levels while scavenging whatever equipment can keep them alive.
Instead of selecting a rigid class at the beginning, the marine develops according to the weapons, armor, skills, tools, and upgrades found during the run. Randomly generated levels and missions make each attempt different, while the standard roguelike mode treats death as permanent.
How the Gameplay Works
Movement and combat are grid-based and turn-based, giving players time to evaluate enemies before acting. Different alien species use their own behaviors and attacks, while damage types, status effects, traps, drones, turrets, and environmental conditions complicate encounters.
Weapons and armor can be upgraded and items can be crafted from scrap. Experience earned through combat and missions unlocks additional skills, allowing each character build to develop differently. An Adventure mode provides a less punishing alternative to permanent death.
