About This Game:
Age of Wonders: Planetfall takes the empire-building and tactical combat of the Age of Wonders series into a science-fiction setting. After the collapse of the enormous Star Union, different factions emerge from isolation and attempt to rebuild civilization while competing for control of abandoned technology, planets, and territory.
Each faction has distinct units, technologies, and strategic strengths, while secret technologies provide another layer of customization. Campaigns and generated scenarios combine diplomacy, exploration, research, colonization, and warfare across alien worlds.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore a strategic world map one turn at a time while establishing colonies, claiming resources, researching technology, negotiating with other factions, and moving armies between territories. Cities can be developed according to local resources and the needs of the growing empire.
When armies fight, battles can shift into detailed turn-based tactical maps where individual units move between cover and use weapons or abilities. Unit modifications allow troops to be customized with new equipment and effects as stronger technologies are discovered.
