AMID EVIL is a fast first-person action game inspired by fantasy shooters of the 1990s. Players become a chosen champion traveling through strange magical realms that have been corrupted by evil, using an arsenal of mystical weapons to defeat monsters and restore each world.
The campaign is divided across several distinct episodes, each with its own environments, enemy designs, architecture, and visual identity. Levels are large and nonlinear, rewarding players who search beyond the direct route for hidden areas and useful resources.
How the Gameplay Works
Players run quickly through first-person environments while attacking enemies with magical weapons rather than conventional firearms. Each weapon behaves differently, providing options suited to groups, distant targets, or especially dangerous opponents.
Collecting souls charges the player’s weapons and allows extremely powerful alternate attacks to be unleashed. Keys, switches, hidden paths, and secret rooms encourage exploration between battles, while later episodes introduce increasingly demanding enemies and boss fights.
