AK-xolotl is a top-down roguelite shooter starring heavily armed axolotls fighting through colorful biomes filled with animals, enemies, projectiles, and bosses. The game combines fast gunplay with creature collecting and a playful visual style built around the contrast between cute characters and chaotic weapons.
Runs are structured around clearing rooms, finding guns and upgrades, rescuing baby axolotls, and gradually expanding the roster available for future attempts. Different weapons and temporary effects can produce very different combat styles from one run to the next.
How the Gameplay Works
