Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is a 2.5D stealth action game starring Shao Jun, a Chinese Assassin who returns home after training with Ezio Auditore. Set during the Ming dynasty, the story follows her campaign against the Templar-controlled group known as the Eight Tigers.
The side-view presentation gives the game a different structure from the main Assassin’s Creed series while retaining familiar ideas such as climbing, hiding, assassination, Eagle Vision, and using tools to manipulate guards. Its visual presentation draws heavily from traditional Chinese painting and brushwork.
How the Gameplay Works
Players guide Shao Jun through layered environments by climbing walls, using hiding places, moving between foreground and background paths, and studying guard patrols. Stealth takedowns allow enemies to be removed quietly, while tools can distract guards or temporarily create safer routes.
Direct combat is possible but generally more dangerous than remaining unseen. Missions reward efficient stealth and can be replayed to improve rankings, locate hidden collectibles, and complete objectives using cleaner or faster approaches.
