Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate HD is a side-scrolling action-adventure set between the first two Lords of Shadow games. The story follows several members of the Belmont bloodline across different time periods as they enter Dracula’s castle and confront the consequences of Gabriel Belmont’s transformation.
The game combines traditional Castlevania side-view exploration with the combat style of Lords of Shadow. Different protagonists have distinct weapons and abilities, and the castle gradually opens as new movement tools are acquired.
How the Gameplay Works
Players use chained melee attacks, blocking, dodging, magic, secondary weapons, and character-specific abilities while fighting monsters and bosses. Platforming includes climbing, ledge movement, swinging, and routes that cannot be reached until later powers are unlocked.
The map encourages backtracking for health, magic, ammunition, and other upgrades. The HD version improves visual presentation over the original handheld release while preserving its interconnected castle structure.
