About This Game:
Chrysalis is a hybrid of tower defense, roguelike exploration, and RPG strategy where nature itself becomes the player’s army. Players control an invisible Wisp tasked with protecting a powerful Chrysalis from dark magic, disease, monsters, and other corrupting forces.
Because the Wisp cannot fight directly, it possesses friendly animals and plants found throughout procedurally generated environments. These creatures can explore, battle enemies, collect resources, and eventually become part of the defensive force protecting the Chrysalis.
How the Gameplay Works
Levels alternate between preparation and defense phases. During preparation, players explore the environment, fight smaller groups of enemies, recruit useful creatures, gather resources, and discover new Growths that can strengthen the upcoming defense.
When an invasion begins, waves of monsters move toward the Chrysalis and the focus shifts toward tower-defense strategy. Possessed creatures and planted defenses must hold the attackers back long enough for the Chrysalis to unleash its cleansing power.
