About This Game:
Command & Conquer Gold is the Windows release of the original Command & Conquer, the real-time strategy game that introduced the global war between the Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod. The conflict revolves around Tiberium, a mysterious extraterrestrial substance spreading rapidly across Earth while also becoming an extremely valuable resource.
GDI approaches the war with conventional military technology and heavier armor, while Nod relies more heavily on speed, stealth, unconventional weapons, and the leadership of Kane. Separate campaigns present both sides of the conflict through missions connected by live-action briefing sequences.
How the Gameplay Works
Players establish bases by deploying construction equipment and then place power plants, refineries, barracks, factories, defensive structures, and advanced technology buildings. Harvesters collect Tiberium and return it to refineries, converting the resource into credits used to create units and structures.
Campaign missions include base assaults, defensive operations, commando missions, and battles where players begin with limited forces. Controlling the map, protecting harvesters, destroying enemy production, and choosing the right combination of infantry and vehicles are central to winning larger battles.
