Contraption Maker is a physics-based puzzle game from the creators of The Incredible Machine, built around solving problems with chains of mechanical parts. Each stage gives the player a collection of objects such as belts, gears, balls, ropes, trampolines, switches, animals, and other unusual components that must be arranged to complete a goal.
The game encourages experimentation rather than forcing one exact solution. A puzzle can often be solved in several ways, and the sandbox tools allow players to build their own machines once they understand how the different parts interact.
How the Gameplay Works
Players drag parts into the puzzle area, connect compatible objects, adjust positions, and then start the simulation to see what happens. If the machine fails, the setup can be paused, rearranged, and tested again until the intended chain reaction works.
Beyond the prepared puzzles, the Maker Lab provides a freeform construction space for building original contraptions. User-created puzzles and machines can also be shared, giving the game a strong creative side in addition to its campaign challenges.
