Watch Dogs 2 is an open-world action game set in the San Francisco Bay Area, where hacker Marcus Holloway joins the DedSec collective to expose corporations and organizations abusing the ctOS 2.0 network. The tone is more colorful and playful than the first game while keeping hacking at the center of missions and exploration.
The world includes San Francisco, Oakland, Silicon Valley, Marin, and surrounding areas, with missions involving surveillance, data theft, social manipulation, corporate infiltration, and public stunts. Players can approach many objectives through stealth, hacking, remote devices, or direct combat.
How the Gameplay Works
Marcus can hack cameras, phones, vehicles, cranes, forklifts, security systems, doors, and electrical equipment from a distance. A quadcopter and RC Jumper provide remote access to restricted areas, while firearms and melee attacks remain available for more aggressive approaches.
Vehicles are used to cross the open world, and online systems allow cooperative missions, bounty events, and invasions to appear alongside single-player activities. Research points unlock new hacking abilities, gadgets, vehicle tricks, and combat options.
