Cry of War is an armored warfare game focused on battles between tanks from different historical periods. Players enter combat in a selection of armored vehicles and must use positioning, armor protection, weapon characteristics, and accurate fire to defeat opposing forces.
Rather than treating every tank as a simple collection of hit points, the game places importance on where a vehicle is struck and how its internal components are affected. Different tanks therefore require different approaches when attacking or protecting vulnerable areas.
How the Gameplay Works
Players control a tank directly from battlefield perspectives while aiming at enemy armor and moving between positions. Shots can affect important components depending on penetration and impact location, so identifying weaker sections of an opposing vehicle is often more effective than firing repeatedly at its strongest armor.
Battles include AI-controlled forces as well as multiplayer options. The available armored vehicles span different designs and eras, giving them noticeable differences in mobility, armor, guns, and battlefield roles.
