Disgaea 5 Complete is a tactical RPG about Killia and a coalition of rebel Overlords fighting the demon emperor Void Dark. The story travels through several Netherworlds, introducing rulers with distinct personalities, abilities, and motives while keeping the series’ mix of melodrama and exaggerated comedy.
The Complete edition includes the base game with additional characters and scenarios, giving players a huge amount of tactical and post-game content. Systems are designed for deep character building, allowing players to create specialized squads far beyond what the main story requires.
How the Gameplay Works
Battles take place on grid maps with movement, skills, throws, team attacks, Geo effects, and character-specific Overload abilities. Revenge Mode can temporarily strengthen units after allies take damage, creating opportunities for dramatic counterattacks.
Squads provide passive and strategic bonuses outside battle, while the Item World, Chara World, Curry system, interrogation, class mastery, reincarnation, and equipment optimization all contribute to long-term progression. Characters can reach enormous statistics and damage values, making the post-game a playground for players who enjoy building highly optimized teams. Those mechanics also make the later stages more varied, because turn-based tactical combat and multiple netherworld overlords continue affecting how the player handles new objectives instead of becoming irrelevant after the opening hours.
