About This Game:
Dotage is a turn-based village-building roguelite where an elder tries to prepare a small community for a series of foretold disasters. Every day is a limited resource, and villagers must be assigned carefully to food, construction, crafting, and preparation.
The game combines settlement management with a prophecy system that warns about future events. Knowing that disease, fire, cold, or other dangers are approaching gives players time to prepare, but resources are never unlimited.
How the Gameplay Works
Players assign workers to buildings, gather materials, grow food, craft goods, and unlock new structures. Each action advances time, making efficiency essential.
Different elders, technologies, and random events change the shape of each run. Surviving one disaster does not guarantee safety because new threats continue to arrive, so long-term planning and flexible production chains are more important than maximizing one resource. Because turn-based village management is closely tied to roguelite runs and prophecy and disaster system, the game creates more variety than its basic controls initially suggest. As worker assignment becomes more demanding, players need to use those systems together rather than treating them as separate features. This is where planning and familiarity begin to matter more than simple reaction speed.
