Easy Red 2 is a World War II tactical shooter that focuses on large-scale battles involving infantry, tanks, artillery, aircraft, and other military units. Players take part in combat across different historical battlefields while fighting as ordinary soldiers, squad leaders, vehicle crews, or other battlefield roles. Rather than following a heavily scripted cinematic campaign, the game emphasizes wider combat situations where multiple squads and vehicles are active at the same time.
Battles combine first-person and third-person action with squad commands and vehicle control, giving players several ways to participate in each mission. Soldiers carry limited ammunition and equipment, wounded troops can require medical attention, and vehicles can suffer damage during combat. Large maps, destructible environments, changing objectives, and AI-controlled forces help create battles that can develop differently depending on how each side performs.
How the Gameplay Works
Players normally enter battle as part of an infantry squad and can use rifles, submachine guns, machine guns, sniper rifles, explosives, and anti-tank weapons. Squad members can be given orders to move, defend positions, or attack objectives, while players are free to take a more direct role in the fighting. If the controlled soldier is killed, the battle can often continue from the perspective of another available soldier instead of immediately ending the mission.
Vehicles also play an important role, with tanks, armored vehicles, transport vehicles, artillery, and aircraft appearing during larger engagements. Players can operate different positions inside certain vehicles, including driving and using mounted weapons. Missions involve objectives such as capturing areas, defending positions, destroying enemy equipment, and supporting friendly forces. The game also includes a mission editor, allowing players to create custom battles using maps, units, vehicles, objectives, and other available tools.
