El Matador is a third-person action shooter about DEA agent Victor Corbet, who is sent into a violent campaign against powerful drug cartels operating across Latin America. Missions involve raids, ambushes, criminal compounds, urban shootouts, and heavily armed opposition.
The game follows the cover-heavy cinematic shooter style of its era, combining scripted action sequences with a large selection of firearms. Corbet is frequently outnumbered, making use of the environment and controlled bursts of fire important during larger encounters.
How the Gameplay Works
Players move through linear missions, take cover behind objects, lean or aim around obstacles, and engage enemies with pistols, rifles, shotguns, and other weapons. Ammunition and weapon choice can be adjusted by collecting equipment from fallen enemies.
