Exit the Gungeon is a fast arcade shooter that follows the Gungeoneers as they try to escape the collapsing Gungeon by riding a series of increasingly dangerous elevators. It takes the bullet-heavy combat of Enter the Gungeon and compresses it into short, vertical arenas.
The game constantly changes the player’s weapon through a magical effect, forcing quick adaptation instead of allowing one favorite gun to carry an entire run. Enemy waves, environmental hazards, and boss fights arrive rapidly with little downtime.
How the Gameplay Works
Players jump, dodge-roll, move across platforms, and fire automatically selected weapons at enemies entering from all sides. Blanks can clear nearby bullets, while active items and temporary upgrades provide extra ways to survive crowded encounters.
Runs contain randomized rooms, guns, items, NPC encounters, and bosses. Successful play unlocks more equipment and characters, while optional challenges encourage repeated attempts at higher scores and cleaner escapes.
