Field of Glory: Empires is a grand strategy game set during the classical era, allowing players to control nations and tribes across Europe, North Africa, and the Near East. Military expansion is only one part of success, as governments must also manage populations, culture, trade, infrastructure, and the long-term stability of their civilization.
A major theme is the rise and decline of empires, preventing simple territorial expansion from being the only measure of strength.
How the Gameplay Works
Players issue orders across a large turn-based map, moving armies, constructing buildings, developing provinces, and interacting diplomatically with neighboring powers. Regions contain populations with different cultures and economic roles.
Decadence can weaken even very large empires if development and cultural progress fail to keep pace with expansion. Battles can be resolved within the game or exported into Field of Glory II for more detailed tactical control.
