About This Game:
Fish Stick Protocol is an online cooperative adventure where teams enter unstable portals leading to bizarre procedurally generated dimensions. Up to eight players can explore together, searching dangerous environments for valuable artifacts while dealing with hostile creatures, environmental anomalies, and unpredictable effects that can completely change what happens during a mission.
Artifacts recovered successfully are taken back to a large permanent manor that functions as the team’s headquarters. Instead of merely selling everything immediately, players can display valuable finds to increase Approval and unlock additional rooms. The hub gradually gains shops, machines, cosmetic features, and other useful facilities as progression continues.
How the Gameplay Works
Each expedition begins by entering a portal and appearing inside a procedurally generated dimension. Players explore, collect artifacts, help teammates survive, and eventually need to return to the portal with their loot. Fallen teammates can be revived, making cooperation especially useful when a mission becomes chaotic.
Dimensions can introduce strange anomalies that alter characters in unexpected ways, including making them enormous, causing them to float, setting them on fire, or turning them to stone. Back at the manor, artifacts can be sold for money or displayed for progression. Players can purchase consumables, unlock useful machines, obtain cosmetics, and use Painting Showers to mix colors and customize their appearance before entering another portal.
