Heroes of Might and Magic II: Gold combines the classic turn-based strategy game with its Price of Loyalty expansion. Players command heroes serving different fantasy kingdoms, capture towns, gather resources, recruit creatures, learn spells, and fight rival armies across colorful adventure maps.
Six main town types provide different creature lineups and magical tendencies, including Knights, Barbarians, Sorceresses, Warlocks, Wizards, and Necromancers. The Gold package expands the available campaigns and scenarios beyond the original succession war.
How the Gameplay Works
Heroes move across the world map in turns, collect resources, visit structures, discover artifacts, and recruit creatures. Entering combat shifts to a hex-based battlefield where stacks of units move and attack according to speed and abilities.
Captured towns can construct additional buildings and recruit stronger creatures over time. Heroes gain experience and skills while learning spells, making long-term character development important during larger scenarios and campaigns.
