Hitman 3 continues Agent 47’s modern World of Assassination story with a collection of large sandbox locations built around infiltration and creative assassination. Each destination places 47 inside a heavily detailed environment containing targets, security systems, restricted areas, disguises, hidden routes, and numerous opportunities for completing objectives.

Rather than forcing players down a single path, missions are designed to support experimentation. A target can often be eliminated using accidents, poison, firearms, close-range attacks, environmental hazards, or carefully prepared scripted opportunities. Replaying missions reveals additional routes and methods that may have been missed previously.

How the Gameplay Works
Players enter each location with a limited selection of equipment and must investigate the environment to decide how to approach the targets. Wearing disguises allows Agent 47 to enter certain restricted locations, although some NPCs can recognize that he does not belong there. Listening to conversations and observing routines can reveal useful opportunities.

Completing challenges increases location mastery and unlocks additional starting points, weapons, tools, and equipment for future attempts. Players can use stealth throughout the entire mission or recover from mistakes using combat, although avoiding unnecessary attention usually produces cleaner results and higher mission ratings.
