About This Game:
Hogs of War is a comedic turn-based tactics game where squads of armed pigs fight across battlefields loosely inspired by World War I. Instead of presenting the conflict seriously, the game uses exaggerated national stereotypes, cartoon weapons, humorous animations, and voice work from British comedian Rik Mayall.
The single-player campaign follows a squad as it fights for control of islands and gradually improves its soldiers. Individual pigs can develop through different military classes, giving them access to new weapons and specialized abilities as the campaign continues.
How the Gameplay Works
Players take turns controlling one pig at a time across three-dimensional battlefields. During a turn, the selected soldier can move around the terrain, choose a weapon or item, aim an attack, and attempt to damage or eliminate members of the opposing team before the available time expires.
The arsenal ranges from rifles and grenades to explosives, artillery, and more unusual weapons. Vehicles can also appear on certain maps. Terrain and positioning are important because attacks can throw pigs into dangerous locations, while explosive weapons can affect several nearby units. Surviving campaign soldiers can be promoted into stronger military roles.
