Human: Fall Flat is a physics-based puzzle platformer where players control a soft, unsteady human character through surreal dream-like environments. Each level presents a large area filled with doors, platforms, machinery, cliffs, vehicles, and other objects that can be manipulated in different ways to reach the exit.
The deliberately awkward movement is a major part of the experience. Characters stumble, swing, climb, and drag objects through the world using physics rather than tightly scripted animations, often turning simple puzzles into unpredictable and humorous situations, especially when several players are working together.
How the Gameplay Works
Players independently control the character’s two arms, allowing each hand to grab walls, objects, switches, and other players. Climbing usually involves raising the arms, grabbing a ledge, and pulling the character upward. Objects can be pushed, carried, stacked, swung, or dropped to create paths through a level.
Most puzzles have flexible solutions rather than one exact sequence, so players can experiment with the physics system and sometimes reach objectives in unexpected ways. Levels can be completed alone or with other players, where cooperation can make certain tasks easier while the unpredictable physics can also create additional chaos.
