Kingdom Rush: Frontiers expands the original tower defense formula with new regions, enemy types, heroes, and tower specializations. The campaign leaves the familiar heart of Linirea and moves into deserts, jungles, underground environments, and other dangerous territories filled with creatures ranging from sandworms to dragons.
The basic tower categories remain familiar, but their advanced forms are completely different. Crossbow forts, assassins, necromancers, powerful temples, and destructive machines provide more specialized tools for dealing with enemy armor, large groups, fast-moving units, and unusual battlefield conditions.
How the Gameplay Works
Players construct towers beside enemy routes and improve them as gold becomes available. Barracks can hold enemies in place while archers provide quick physical damage, mages target resistant opponents, and artillery attacks groups. Advanced specializations then allow each defense to perform more specialized battlefield roles.
A controllable hero provides additional support and gains experience during battle. Reinforcements and Meteor Strikes can be activated manually, while some maps contain special units and environmental features unique to that stage. Heroic and Iron challenges become available after completing normal levels.
