About This Game:
Machinarium Collector’s Edition contains Amanita Design’s hand-drawn puzzle adventure about Josef, a small robot thrown out of the mechanical city known as Machinarium. Determined to return, Josef becomes involved in stopping the Black Cap Brotherhood while also trying to rescue his robot companion Berta.
The adventure tells its story largely without conventional spoken dialogue, using animated symbols and visual reactions instead. The Collector’s Edition adds the game’s original soundtrack and a large digital art book alongside the complete adventure.
How the Gameplay Works
Players guide Josef through hand-drawn locations, collect objects, combine useful items, and operate strange machinery. Josef can extend or compress his body in certain situations, allowing him to reach objects positioned above or below his normal height.
Each location contains environmental puzzles that need to be solved before new parts of the city become accessible. A built-in hint system can provide assistance, while optional puzzle-based help offers more detailed solutions when players become stuck.
