About This Game:
Madagascar is a 3D action-adventure and platform game based on the 2005 DreamWorks animated film. The story follows Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo as their comfortable lives at New York’s Central Park Zoo unexpectedly turn into an adventure that eventually takes them to the island of Madagascar. Several moments and locations from the movie are recreated, while the game also adds its own challenges and expanded situations.
Different characters become playable throughout the adventure, and each has abilities suited to particular obstacles. Marty can use powerful kicks, Gloria relies on her strength, Melman’s height and spinning attacks help with certain situations, and Alex gains abilities useful for jumping and fighting. Skipper and Mort also become playable during selected sections, adding more variety beyond the four main animals.
How the Gameplay Works
Players move through 3D levels while jumping across platforms, collecting items, fighting enemies, solving simple puzzles, and completing character-specific objectives. Special abilities are gradually unlocked by collecting Power Cards, allowing characters to overcome obstacles that could not be handled earlier. Missions regularly switch between the animals depending on the situation.
Monkey Coins can be collected and spent at the Zoovenir Shop on bonuses such as character accessories, additional health, mini-games, and cheats. Levels also contain optional challenges that reward exploration and experimentation. Gameplay changes frequently with sections involving stealth, vehicle-style sequences, escort objectives, environmental puzzles, and combat against creatures found around Madagascar.
