About This Game:
Freedom Planet is a fast-paced 2D action platformer inspired by the style of 16-bit console games. The story follows Lilac and her friends as they become involved in a conflict over the powerful Kingdom Stone and fight against an invading military force.
Speed is important, but stages also contain combat encounters, platforming challenges, alternate routes, and large bosses. Playable characters use different movement abilities, making the same environments feel noticeably different depending on who is selected.
How the Gameplay Works
Lilac can build speed, perform melee attacks, and use her Dragon Boost to launch rapidly through the air. Other playable characters rely on their own abilities for movement and combat, including techniques that reach areas in different ways.
Levels mix high-speed sections with slower platforming and enemy encounters instead of requiring constant forward momentum. Boss fights are frequent and often demand careful use of movement abilities to avoid attacks before finding an opening to strike.
