Magicraft is a top-down action roguelite where the player creates custom spells by combining wands with modular spell components. The system allows projectiles, triggers, modifiers, elemental effects, summons, and other pieces to interact in ways that can become extremely powerful or chaotic.
The game takes place in a colorful fantasy world invaded by strange creatures with strong Lovecraftian influences. Runs are structured around exploring rooms, collecting spell parts, and improving the current magical build.
How the Gameplay Works
Players move and aim independently, dodge enemy attacks, collect wands, and insert spell components into slots. The order of components matters, so one wand can behave completely differently after rearranging its parts.
Bosses and elite rooms test whether a spell can deal enough damage without consuming resources too quickly. Permanent unlocks expand the available spell pool, while experimentation is encouraged because unusual component combinations can produce effects that are not obvious from reading each piece separately.
