Max Payne 2 is a third-person action game that continues Max’s noir crime story as he becomes involved with contract killer Mona Sax and a conspiracy tied to organized crime and his own past. The campaign uses comic-panel narration and heavy cinematic presentation.

The sequel refines Bullet Time with smoother movement, physics-driven environments, and more responsive gunplay.

How the Gameplay Works
Players use pistols, shotguns, submachine guns, rifles, explosives, and dual-wield combinations while diving and firing in slow motion. Bullet Time becomes more powerful as enemies are defeated in quick succession.

Painkillers restore health, and levels move through apartments, warehouses, hospitals, construction sites, and other urban locations. Some sections briefly shift perspective to Mona.
